plenty of fish

If you squint you can see it

Unfocused so cold

Said I should have known

Was it your tone I wonder

Bold to assume these waves would keep us under

Please don’t go

Said you should have known

Has the sand ever sank so slow

Burning sole undertones

Echo on the elastic strength of our last breath

Let’s hit a new low

Bet we could have known

Sun diving into another death

Prone to rising a little too late

Didn’t even wait to see

Didn’t want to know

All alone as water drips me deeper

Thought you were a keeper

Not after all

But at least there’s plenty of fish.
